I think the idea is that at the point when you would upgrade you would just buy the new motherboard rather than a whole new laptop so the future prices will be cheaper for you but the price to initially get on board is kind of steep because of it. But this is also putting a lot of trust in that at the time you want to upgrade they’ll still be making compatible boards.
That would be one step in the theoretical eating of the rich, yes.
That’s one of the issues with how we’ve (most western capitalist countries) been doing this.
People are struggling for money so minimum wage goes up. Labour to create things is now more expensive and prices go up.
There is only one solution and that’s to theoretically (or technically) eating the rich that are hoarding all of the wealth.
It’s sad that eco friendliness comes at a premium
