Bluetooth barely works when my phone is in my pocket and my headset on my head. Make that work first before imagining users with a 10km long neck.

(Or maybe this is the kind of connectivity it takes to make Bluetooth work when my phone is in my pocket)

Requires perfect conditions and clear line-of-sight. Seems like a click-bait marketing article. edit: and 10km would be over the horizon so it’d need elevated equipment to compensate for the curvature of the earth.

Does it count as Bluetooth if it extends that far? I haven’t looked into the SoC, but that seems misleading at the very least.

The Bluetooth standard uses maximum power as a requirement for classification not range. So if they manage to not exceed the power limit of class 1 it would be valid.
