if all cops are bastards (ACAB), then all ML are bastards (AMLAB).

if one bad apple spoils the bunch, ML is a fermenting bucket of shit. and if you choose to be a part of it I don’t want to even speak to you.

Yeah… I really don’t think that analogy fits this situation. Actually that’s really funny since the fundies on lemmygrad would absolutly agree with you that ACAB.

Police have a duty to enforce the law, and when they ignore other officers breaking the law they are failing their duty to society. Do you think ML users have a duty to control what other ML users post? That’s the mods/admins job, regular users don’t have any special privileges on Lemmy.

they’re more similar than you admit.

police are a group of individuals that promote fascist ideologies and don’t follow laws.

the ML community is a group of individuals that promote fascist ideologies and don’t follow rules.

police have a vested interest in protecting the peace provided by the oligarchy.

ML have a vested interest in ensuring the status quo of power remains in the hands of the oligarchy by dividing the left and ensuring chaos keeps them busy.

besides, a sense of duty is not a requirement of becoming a LEO, nor is it required to become a ML user.

I’m not talking about a “sense of duty,” I’m talking about actual responsibility. Lemmy users don’t have a high level of responsibility for the server they use. Admins and mods do.

it’s completely irrelevant about their “duty” because “duty” as a sense of responsibility is a fictitious construct our government uses to instill a sense of fear that empowers their lackeys and forces compliance by the public.

there’s literally nothing stopping LEOs from breaking the laws they are supposed to protect. in-fact, their idea of keeping themselves in check is to self-regulate through internal affairs. a division, just to remind you, that sits inside the police force and determines culpability.

            need I say more?

so, if we take into account that police are self-regulating then I suppose that makes the ML community worse than LEOs.
